The Icarus Range, named after the soaring mythical Greek character, is a reflection of the mountain peaks that surround the estate combined with the Lategan family’s passion for flight, and the driving pursuit of excellence that pervades Bergsig’s wines, from vine to bottle.
Icarus White
A rich, creamy full-bodied wine blended from three different varietals: Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Weisser Riesling. The Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc were fermented in small oak barrels, left on the lees, and matured for 12 months. The Weisser Riesling was tank-fermented in a flinty style.
Icarus Red
Cabernet Sauvignon, Touriga Nacional, and Merlot in perfect harmony. Opulent plums and black cherries with cigar box and vanilla notes. Vibrant and elegant with beautiful weight and length, leaving you with a lasting impression.
Icarus Heritage Reserve
A truly rare and treasured wine, patiently matured over three decades to achieve extraordinary depth and complexity. Deep amber in colour, it unfolds with luxurious layers of dried figs, dates, raisins and fruitcake, complemented by notes of caramel, toffee and spice. Rich and velvety on the palate, this remarkable wine balances concentration and elegance, culminating in an exceptionally long, warming finish that speaks of time, craftsmanship and heritage.
